How do you install a wireless mouse on a laptop?

Installing a Bluetooth mouse in Window

  1. If your mouse has a dongle, plug it into the USB port of your laptop or PC. Don’t have a dongle? Then continue with step 2.
  2. Via the Windows logo and via the gear icon, go to ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Devices’.
  3. Turn Bluetooth on.
  4. Press and hold the sync button on the bottom of the mouse. The mouse now appears in the list of devices.
  5. Choose the mouse in this list to connect it to your computer.

Installing a Bluetooth mouse in macOS

  1. If your mouse has a dongle, plug it into the USB port of your MacBook or iMac. Don’t have a dongle? Go to step 2.
  2. In the Apple menu, go to ‘System Preferences’ and click on ‘Bluetooth’.
  3. In the Bluetooth menu, select ‘switch on Bluetooth’.
  4. Press and hold the sync button on the bottom of the mouse. The mouse now appears in the list of devices.
  5. Choose the mouse in this list to connect it to your computer.

Is the mouse still not working?

It’s possible that your cursor isn’t moving yet if you’ve completed the instructions. Make sure you have switched on the mouse by pressing the button on the bottom. It also helps to check whether the mouse is charged, whether any batteries are in it, and whether the plastic has been removed from beneath the batteries. Restarting your computer or upgrading your operating system version might also be beneficial in some cases.
